Under the T129 EGEMEN Project, which began in 2017, the Aviation Department of the General Directorate of Security (EGM) received its first T129 ATAK Light Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopter on February 25, 2021, followed by the delivery of two additional helicopters in May 2021, thereby forming its first ATAK Fleet. With the induction of the T129 ATAK helicopters, the Aviation Department became the first police organization in the world to include attack helicopters in its inventory.
