AI leaders call for slower development as OpenAI rules out 2026 IPO
Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei has called on leading artificial intelligence companies to slow the pace of model development, arguing that safety work is falling behind advances in AI capability. Amodei set out a three-part proposal on Saturday that includes permanent independent evaluators inside major AI companies, shared safety standards across the industry and international cooperation on AI risks.
