Tk 5.07 Billion Electricity Bill in Magura: General Manager Suspended; Minister Expresses Regret

A residential electricity consumer in Magura was issued an electricity bill of nearly Tk 5.07 billion for consuming only 235 units of electricity. Following the incident, Md. Mohitul Islam, General Manager (GM) of Magura Palli Bidyut Samity, was immediately suspended from his job for alleged negligence in the discharge of his official duties.
