A video that went viral in recent weeks has reignited controversy around gold purity testing at a Malabar Gold & Diamonds showroom in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The footage, circulating widely on social media and covered by multiple news outlets, appears to show an XRF/caratometer (gauging/testing) machine repeatedly displaying a 22-carat HUID-hallmarked gold bracelet as 20 carat during an exchange transaction.
