Lord of the Rings Online launched the Wolves of Mordor expansion on Wednesday afternoon. I was a little concerned a bit back because they felt the need to publish a guidance message about the launch date, which is something you only do when you are not feeling 100% about the launch date. But nothing came […]
Hello Games continues on its decade long roll of bringing No Man’s Sky to as many people as possible, this time by putting its epic space exploration experience on your phone… as long as you have an iPhone… or an iPad. (Android next maybe?) Does that put it on more platforms than Skyrim now? But […]
As previously announced (and fully expected before that), CCP/Fenris has unlocked the rest of the reward track for the Crimson Harvest event. The total track was extended from 1,000 to 1,500 points, which added the following items: Blood Raider Crimson Mark SKIN for the Leshak (Blood Raider track) Tetrimon Crimson Mark SKIN for the Leshak […]
Potshot and I had finished up Emerald Lake, the first of the five regions that come with Over the Hill last time around. Or we thought we had finished. A patch came out last week that added three more points of interest to Emerald Lake because some people had finished all the maps and found […]
The WoW Forever beta is now done. We have about a week to wait until we get to the official live release of the project. I played both more and less than I thought I would. I find the ideas behind WoW Forever attractive and I am invested in the project. I am in, and […]
We are getting down to the last handful of releases for the season. Including this week, there were only a dozen titles left with solid release dates. Week forty-three saw three titles release, which had some potential to shake up the scoreboard, but first we need to see how things were lined up last time. […]
Yesterday I had a pile of EVE Online things to cover, today it is the video game industry more broadly, or big players therein. So off the the bullet points… so many bullet points. EA Kills Off BioWare, Video Game Community Mourns Aftermath – Electronic Arts Closing BioWare, Laying Off Hundreds Ars Technica – RIP […]
I have managed to let a bunch of EVE Online items build up on my list of potential topics, so I am just going to blast them out as bullet points and move on. I am not sure I have anything meaningful to say about any of them at this point, so in descending order […]
We’re back with Over the Hill, this time to look at multiplayer. Unlike past Funselektor titles, Over the Hill will let you play with other people. As I mentioned last time, I poked Potshot about grabbing Over the Hill after I had just a couple of hours invested. It seemed like our kind of thing, […]
The third of the traditional Daybreak Q4 expansions has been announced as the next EverQuest II expansion, Descent to Val’Zyroth, has been announced and is up for pre-order. This is the twenty-third full expansion for EverQuest II, leaving aside the four adventure packs that are also part of the game. (These days though, The Splitpaw […]
By the middle of last week I had finished up the reward track for the 2026 Crimson Harvest event, having hit the 1,000 points required. I collected the remaining prizes from the track, including the blueprint copy for the Akoman, the new Bloodraiders battlecruiser. The SKINs I have redeemed, and the SKINNR design elements. The […]
Last week a driving title from Funselektor called Over the Hill arrived on Steam. Driving games are kind of their thing, having previously done Absolute Drift, Golden Lap, and Art of Rally, the latter being one of the titles I picked up in the Steam Summer sale back in 2021. I also bought a copy […]
Another big week just went by with four more titles adding to what might be some of the final changes in the rankings. There are only ten weeks left in the league but, as I mentioned last time around, the final scheduled launch will land in week fifty and there isn’t much one could pick […]
This post follows on from last week’s survey of the streaming services to which we subscribe. This time around though I am less interested in individual services and more interested in being able to watch actual shows. The usual routine is my wife asking me about some show that was recommended to her and my […]
It has been a big year for survival crafting titles leaving early access. We have had Palworld, RuneScape Dragonwilds, and Valheim all go live since early June, and now Enshrouded is joining in with its big 1.0 update. I’m going to have to check if I even have anything left in early access in my […]
